Description of Activity: The steel industry has always been relevant to the Gipuzkoan economy. The Monumental Igartza Complex houses the remains of the ironworks. It was the Igartza ironworks that in the 19th century created, about a kilometre downstream, the San Martin Ironworks (Fabrica de Hierros San Martin), which would later become CAF.
In the mid-twentieth century, the Indar company's several pavilions were built at the Igartz Ironworks, and a new industrial revolution was born in the same place. We will carry out a guided tour and give you a detailed account of the Beasain industry.
